As of late Deathproof, not great to be honest.
The best movie I've seen all year is the Spanish [REC] because of my love of zombie movies, the style of it, and because it's the first genuine scare I've had movie wise in ages.

Has anyone seen The Spirit? I've only read reviews saying it was either okay, or bad. The previews really excite me but is it worth seeing? (or will i have to be the first on the forum to watch it?) Thanks

oh, and if Deathproof isn't that great, what about Planet Terror? I want to see those so badly, along with 300 (STILL haven't seen it!)

[REC] Is probably the one of, if not THE scariest movies I've ever seen. The last ten minutes in the attic with the zombie girl lumbering around in the dark caused my huge, buff 2 meter long friend to shriek like a girl

I have to agree! I saw it in cinema originally as a friend directed me to it. Me, and two other people were in the room on the second day of a week run, INTENSE.
I usually frown upon jump scares but they're cool in the first person style as, well, that's how you'd see things happen! I almost died when the fireman's corpse fell in the cinema, seemed so damn realistic.
I liked how much they did with the camera, the way the story built to the end was terrific.

Just saw The Spirit.. Okay, here's the thing, watch it with popcorn and don't expect it to be anything like Sin City despite what the first 5-10 minutes lead you to think. I was personally disappointed but I think I might have enjoyed it more if I were in a different mood ( fell asleep during last fight scene). I never read the comic but this film does not take itself to seriously (key to enjoying the movie- be loose and laugh easily)

I just watched the factory cut of Alien 3, which is actually great (much better than the god awful theatrical release). I love the Alien series, and the backstory to the making of 3 is very interesting.
Also watched Downfall again, and Napoleon. I'm a bit of a history geek and had not seen these two (which are 99% true to history unlike so many movies) so I enjoyed them both.

Oddly enough Alien 3 might be my favorite alien fiilm. It's just such a perfect climax to the series (let's all try to forget Resurrection...). Also: The part in [REC] that scared me the most was when they're in the attic and the little boy tries to grab the camera... I jumped like a meter out of my seat

I'm sad for admitting this, but that part didn't scare me most in the film (though it fucking almost killed me still ) but on the DVD menu when they cut to that I actually shouted slightly... I'm a real mans man!

Just watched [REC] and I'm not that impressed. It good, but sometimes way too predictable and even stupid. The sequel should explain some parts, but I expected a much better movie.

I saw Slumdog Millionaire (twice). It was a great movie, and the soundtrack was very impressive as well. I love the song right before and during the credits: www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZ6XLg_39Mw "Jai Ho!" (and M.I.A. is in like two songs on the soundtrack). It was a nice heartwarming movie. Loved it!
