Oh, I saw a Swedish movie with a title that translates "Let the right one in" released 2008. Pretty good. definitely a change from America cinema. I liked the ending. I'm not sure what to classify it as with regard to genre.

I'm not sure what to classify it as with regard to genre. I saw it in the theatre, opening week. Wonderful film, almost like a sort of twisted fairy tale. I agree about the ending, wasn't at all expecting such violent revenge, especially considering the people it happened to and how graphic it was (for swedish cinema anyway). Definitely the best Swedish vampire movie ever made, and one of the best Vampire movies in general. Frostbiten was kind of fun but pretty silly as well, it wasn't really that serious though. There's a vampire craze going on here at the moment

The craze is no doubt attributed to the book series Twilight. I don't care for Twilight but I am glad it has brought reading to a new group of people.... and the vampire craze in movies isn't bad either

and you hit it perfect. Twisted fairy tale. That's just what it is, cause it's not exactly scary and it has sweet moments

Well the part when Eli enters Oskars home without being welcomed in, and then in his room she says "Skrik då!" when he criticises her for killing. When she was in the dark and covered in blood she looked pretty scary, I almost thought she was going to bite him. And the suspense when the man goes after Eli and she's sleeping in the bathtub... I don't know if I'd attribute the vampire craze to Twilight actually, Frostbiten came out 2006 or 2007 (just mentioned it because it was the first swedish vampire movie I saw), Låt Den Rätte Komma In is based on a book that came out a year before the Book Twilight. Swedish vampire books have been big for a couple years now, and are being made into movies with the success of LDRKI. I can't think of any of the names of other swedish vampire films coming out, but rest assured the success of twilight is barely felt outside of the US. I was actually watching Ellen the other day (it was on at the gym, all right? ) and the guy who plays the vampire in twilight is actually british, and he himself didn't know the twilight books were a success since h was living in London at the time.

Has anyone seen The Wrestler? It's gotten great ratings and I'm kinda interested. Seen it twice, on release, then a week after. Possibly the best film I've seen in a movie theatre in years, I actually love wrestling (I know...) and enjoy seeing old guys at conventions/indie federations and such, so it hit a nerve. Superb film, only disspointing actress was the lass who plays Randy's daughter Stephanie, and only then in her last scene. It's a wonderful film, see it without any preconceptions and you'll be blown away.

I really wanna see The Wrestler... have yet to, but I will! also, just cause I saw an ad for it on this site. That dumb movie "Fired Up" is partially filmed at Occidental College in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles (where Obama went for two years and where I want to get in!)
